摘要
Isotherms have been constructed for the replacement of H and NH4 from synthetic zeolite L by the alkali metals (Na, K, Rb, Cs) and the alkaline earths (Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba). Characterization was carried out by XRD, Al-27 MAS n.m.r., thermal analyses, and analyses of solid and liquid phases by a variety of experimental techniques. Some isotherms show a type of hysteresis not previously seen in ion-exchange systems. It has been demonstrated that this is an artifact of common ion-exchange experimental methodology that is especially noticeable in the L structure because of its unique open-channel framework and linked cancrinite and intercage sites.
