A simple pulse divider has been developed for use with high resolution position sensitive detectors. The divider mainly consists of two elements, a log function generator and a sampling amplifier. The division is carried out with a precision of 1% of full scale over a pulse height range of 40:1 for the position signal and 16:1 for the energy signal. Results are given for the use of the divider with an ion implanted position sensitive detector. © 1969.
