In 1932, Hardy and Littlewood [1] proved the inequalities [formula omitted] The best possible values of the constants Kl and K2 being 1 and 4 respectively. The object of this paper is to prove analogous results for infinite series in which the derivative of the real function f is replaced by the finite difference [formula omitted] of a sequence {an} of real numbers. © 1979, Royal Society of Edinburgh.
