摘要
The structure, composition and thickness of thin films of various functional silanes formed on cold-rolled steel or cold-rolled zinc surfaces have been studied by high-resolution time-of-flight SIMS and AES. The silanes were gamma-APS (aminopropyltriethoxy silane), AEAPS [N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyltrimethoxy silane] and FPS (perfluorinated propyltrimethoxy silane), which were deposited from dilute solutions by dipping or spin-coating. Variables were the pH of the solution and the silane concentration. The objective of the studies presented here was to improve our understanding of the structure and orientation of silane films on metals, in view of possible applications of such coupling agents in areas where corrosion control and durable paint adhesion is required.
