摘要
Reaction of diaryl ketones with excess lanthanide (Ln = Sm, Yb) metals caused the complete cleavage of their C-O double bonds. This C-O bond-cleavage process was stepwise and reversible and was possibly mediated by a mu-oxo, mu-alkylidene complex.
