摘要
The giant dipole region of nuclear excitation plays an important role in photo-absorption, electron scattering and muon capture, and in this region there are many overlapping levels of the same and different Jπ. We derive expressions for the angular correlations of emitted nuclear fragments using R-matrix theory to describe the nuclear scattering states and reduced multipole moments to describe the electromagnetic or weak interactions. Application of the formulae to the processes in 4He is presented, and it is shown that one of two previously proposed level schemes is unacceptable. © 1969.
