A MEMBRANE INTERFACE FOR AQUEOUS SAMPLE INTRODUCTION INTO INDUCTIVELY COUPLED PLASMAS

摘要
The aim of this work was to characterize and test the analytical capabilities of a membrane interface for aqueous sample introduction into inductively coupled plasmas. Detection limits in the ng l-1 range were obtained, as well as analysis results of good accuracy and precision for multielement trace metal determinations. The interface is usable for reducing oxide interferences in instruments for inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. A better performance is obtained using the interface in comparison with normal nebulizer systems since all the gas flow rates, the liquid flow rate and the water vapour content of the aerosol can be changed independently. © 1990.
