ISOLATION OF NAEGLERIA-FOWLERI FROM ARTIFICIALLY HEATED WATER

摘要
Water samples were collected from artificially heated and ambient temperature water and processed for the presence of Naegleria fowleri. Samples taken from thermally altered habitats were positive 43% of the time, whereas ambient temperature habitats were positive 2% of the time. The data suggests that thermally altered aquatic systems in the south-eastern United States may provide habitats conducive to the proliferation of N. fowleri. © 1979.
