A NEW CULTIVATION METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF VEGETABLES WITH LOW CONTENT OF NITRATE

摘要
Lettuce, Lactuca sativa var. capitata, was grown in soilless culture with a reduced supply of nutrients. The nutrient supply was reduced in proportion to the daily uptake of nutrients in a crop with free access to the nutrients. The results show that the tested nutrition supply makes it possible to decrease the nitrate content by 30-40% in lettuce plants and still maintain a high yield and a high quality of the lettuce crop. This method has opened new possibilities for plant production and makes it possible to achieve high yield, high quality and low content of nitrate in plants simultaneously.
