PLASMA REFLECTION EDGE IN CRYSTALLINE MB6-COMPOUNDS

摘要
The room temperature ultraviolet reflectivity and plasma reflection edge in crystalline samples of MB6 such as LaB6, PrB6, NdB6, and SmB6 have been investigated. The theoretical analysis of the experimental curves in the region of plasma edge allows to determine the dielectric constant ϵ, the relaxation time τ, and the N/m* ratio. The optical constants such as refractive index n, extinction coefficient k, and absorption coefficient α are evaluated in the region 1.2 to 6.0 eV using the Kramers‐Kronig relation.
