IMMOBILIZATION OF BETA-GALACTOSIDASE (KLUYVEROMYCES-LACTIS) ON SOLID-PHASE NI(II)-CHELATE

摘要
Ni(II)-iminodiacetate-agarose achieved a near quantitative adsorption of beta-galactosidase (Kluyveromices lactis) with a yield of 96% of activity applied. A high percentage (90%) of beta-galactosidase activity was preserved after immobilization on the solid phase. The insoluble derivative could be used for lactose hydrolysis either in solution or in whey permeate.
