摘要
18 male Sprague-Dawley rats were housed in cages with activity wheels and starved. Ss provided with an edible nonnutritive bulk during starvation showed less increase in running behavior than their nonbulk eating controls. It is proposed that the increase in wheel running of the starving S is the result of 2 factors: (1) the initial increase is related to conditions of the empty gut, and (2) the continued increase is the result of a combination of the empty gut, augmented by conditions of body temperature regulation.
