摘要
The effects of surface coatings on the fatigue behaviour of a range of steels, titanium alloys and nickel-base materials used in aero engine applications are described, and factors influencing the performance of coated alloys outlined. The application of coatings caused a loss of strength and life compared with the uncoated material although the fatigue penalty is markedly less than that associated with the deleterious influence of surface degradation processes on alloy fatigue characteristics. © 1989.
