The 10 kW PV-electrolysis test and research facility in Stuttgart, a subtask of the project HYSOLAR (HYdrogen from SOLAR energy), has been erected to develop a first concept for solar hydrogen plants, to develop, test and compare plant components and to compare system solar operation with different power matching concepts between photovoltaics and alkaline electrolysers on a small technical scale. After more than 2 years of specific experiments with components and solar operation, this report describes, after an overview about the system and its components, the results of examination of the plant components PV-generator, power conditioning unit (PCU) and electrolyser and then the comparative results of system solar operation with the various installed power matching concepts.
