CHARGE-TRANSFER INTERACTIONS OF IODINE WITH SOME THIONES

Thermodynamic results are reported for the spectrophotometric investigation in carbon tetrachloride of the 1:1 complexes of iodine with the following series of thiones containing the NC=S group: tetraethylthiuram disulfide, (C2H5)2NC(S)SSC(S)N(C2H5)2; tetramethylthiuram disulfide, (CH3)2NC(S)SSC(S)N(CH3)2; tetramethylthiuram monosulfide, (CH3)3-NC(S)SC(S)N(CH3)2; methyl dimethyldithiocarbamate, (CH3kNC(S)SCH3; and N,N-dimethylthioacetamide, (CH3)2-NCS(S)CH4. © 1969, American Chemical Society.
