Dislocations punched-out around a short fiber in a short fiber metal matrix composite subjected to uniform temperature change

摘要
A thermal expansion mismatch between short fiber and matrix in a short fiber metal matrix composite subjected to a uniform temperature change is simulated by arrays of prismatic dislocation loops. The prismatic dislocation loops so generated will be punched-out around a short fiber with the punching distance c'. Then an analytical model is constructed to compute c' and the stress field in and around a short fiber. Finally, the effect of several parameters on c' is studied.
