ANALYSIS OF POWER-SYSTEM DYNAMIC OSCILLATIONS WITH BEAT PHENOMENON BY FOURIER TRANSFORMATION

摘要
One of the important tasks in power system studies is to determine the amount of damping in a system oscillation after a disturbance. The mathematical process to determine the damping constants of different oscillation modes by comparing the magnitudes of each frequency component in respective time windows in transient stability swings was previously developed. However, when two or more poorly damped oscillation modes of close-by frequencies are excited, beat phenomenon will occur. In this paper, the previously developed Stability Output Fourier Transformation (SOFT) technique is extended to analyse such beat phenomenon with the objective of determining the frequency components and their damping constants. © 1990 IEEE
