TECHNIQUE FOR THE DISPLAY OF PRESSURE DISTRIBUTIONS BENEATH THE FOOT

A new technique is presented for the display of pressure distribution beneath the foot during locomotor activities. Through the use of results obtained from slow walking in shoes the advantages of this technique over the conventional center of pressure display are emphasized. With suitable instrumentation for data acquisition and display, the technique could provide the basis for a visually effective yet quantitative method of presenting pressure distribution data in a clinical environment.
