摘要
A simple technique for the measurement of Young's modulus of a specimen in the form of a wire or a strip is developed by using it as an unloaded cantilever, fixed at one end and free at the other. In this cantilever flexural vibrations are produced by an electromagnetic method and its natural frequency is determined. The maximum probable error in the absolute value of Young's modulus does not exceed 1·35%.
