Two types of new spiropyran amphiphiles were used to prepare a photodriven ion gate. On electrodes modified with these photoresponsive LB films, it was demonstrated that electrochemical oxidation of Fe(CN)64- could be controlled by changing the structure of the "spiropyran" film with light irradiation.
