摘要
Two lactating cows and goats were each given orally a single dose of 131I as sodium iodide and 125I as sodium iodate and the milk, plasma, feces and urine collected over a 7 day period. Three cows and two goats were given twice daily doses of the labeled iodide-iodate for a period of about 14 days with complete collections being made only during the last 4 days. The data show that the metabolism of iodate and iodide under these conditions were markedly similar. The relatively minor differences that became apparent suggest that iodate is not absorbed from the digestive tract as readily as iodide and that iodate may differ in its rate of transfer into milk. © 1969 Health Physics Society.
