DETERMINATION OF OPTICAL CONSTANTS OF THIN FILMS BY MEANS OF CURVES OF CONSTANT TRANSMISSION

A method is given to determine the optical constants and the foil thickness of thin absorbing films by means of curves of constant transmission. The influence of the experimental error on the accuracy is pointed out. The method is applied to the determination of the optical constants of silver foils of about 600 Å thickness between 270 and 650 °K in the wavelenght interval 3,000 to 3,600 Å. © 1969 Springer-Verlag.
