摘要
1. 1. A comparative study on the occurrence of the β-1,4-glucanase and β-glucosidase activities among 14 Mediterranean species of bivalves, gastropods and cephalopods has been performed. 2. 2. As these two enzyme activities, together with other ones, form the cellulase complex required for utilizing cellulose as an energy source, special experimental conditions and assay procedures have been adopted in an attempt to evaluate the contribution of each component of this complex. 3. 3. Results are discussed with reference to phylogenetic position and feeding habits of the molluscs examined. © 1979.
