ORIGIN OF THE NIR EMISSION IN CR-DOPED FORSTERITE, Y3AL5O12 AND Y2SIO5

摘要
Large spectral shifts and pseudo-splittings of the near infrared (NIR) fluorescence were observed under uniaxial compressive stress in Cr doped Mg2SiO4, Y3Al5O12 and Y2SiO5. The stress results strongly suggest that the NIR laser emission in all three crystals originates from the 3T2 state.
