The potent and selective orally active ANG II receptor antagonist losartan (DuP 753) enhanced the retentions in an inhibitory (passive) avoidance test after scopolamine amnesia. In addition, the influence of the specific NO-synthase inhibitor N-G-nitro-L-arginine (L-NNA) in combination with losartan was tested. L-NNA itself shows no effect. The combination of losartan with L-NNA did not produce any prolongation of step-through latencies.
