GAS-PHASE REACTIONS INVOLVING HOT O-18(3P) ATOMS AND FORMALDEHYDE

摘要
We report an investigation of the low-pressure gas-phase reactions involving hot (O(3P))-O-18 atoms with translational energies in excess of 1 eV and formaldehyde. Using mass spectrometry, O-18 incorporation in (COO)-O-16-O-18 and (HCO)-O-18 products was observed. These results strongly suggested that carbonyl bond addition was an important reaction at these energies.
