摘要
When alloys containing between 13. 9 and 17. 9 at. pct Nb are quenched to room temperature from the BCC ( gamma ) phase at elevated temperatures, diffusion-controlled precipitation of the equilibrium phases is prevented and martensitic transformations to transition phases occur instead. A metastable phase diagram was established. The deformation behavior and shape memory effects accompanying the transformations were characterized phenomenologically. Macroscopic stress-strain parameters were defined and their composition and structural state dependencies delineated.
