摘要
The increasing interest in and demand for the study of human genetics has led to the introduction on the market of a diverse array of systems for automated metaphase spread location and karyotyping. The author reviews the work done by the Medical Research Council of the United Kingdom on the development of metaphase location systems and the development of specialized software by various companies for carrying out metaphase spread location and karyotyping.
