摘要
An improved magnetic densimeter utilizing optical sensing and solid state components is described. The system has been calibrated with sucrose solutions at 20°C demonstrating a sensitivity of 1 ppm and a precision of 5 ppm. A density measurement can be made on 0.3 ml of solution in 10 min. The operation is simple and convenient for the routine determination of partial specific volumes of minor components in a solution. The accuracy of the densimeter has been verified by measuring the partial specific volume of ribonuclease at 20°C. Excellent agreement with previous measurements was obtained. © 1969 The American Institute of Physics.
