NONVANISHING COEFFICIENTS OF DIPOLE MOMENT EXPANSION IN AXIALLY SYMMETRIC MOLECULES

Schur's Lemma of the theory of groups has been used for the determination of the relations among the dipole moment expansion coefficients for the doubly degenerate coordinates in axially symmetric molecules. The role of the orientation of the degenerate coordinates is discussed. The relations between the non-vanishing second- and third-order coefficients of important point groups are summarized in tables. © 1968.
