摘要
We describe how the technique of Fourier acceleration can be used to alleviate the problem of critical slowing down when updating gauge field configurations in numerical simulations of a lattice gauge theory. Problems arise in the non-Abelian theory because of gauge freedom. To solve these requires both gauge fixing and the addition of a correction term to the updating algorithm. Some numerical results are presented for SU(3) pure gauge theory on small lattices which indicate that large-scale calculations in full QCD could be considerably faster using Fourier acceleration. © 1990 The American Physical Society.
