摘要
Chemical analyses showed that the secretory conglutinin-like factor and secretory bacterial aggregating factors of saliva and amniotic fluid are present in factions containing high-molecular-weight componenets consisting of 22-54% protein and 46-78% carbohydrate on a weight bases. All activities, including that of antibodies in saliva, were sensitive to inhibition by periodate oxidation under standard conditions (Kabat & Mayer, 1961). This indicated that carbohydrate residues have an important role in the agglutination and ggregation produced by secretions.
