摘要
The magnetic susceptibility χ of semiconducting liquid TlxSe1-x alloys has been measured in a temperature range up to 1100°C. The diamagnetism is assumed to be temperature independent and is found to be linear in composition. The paramagnetism for x<0.33 is attributed to paramagnetic centers at dangling bonds. The activation energy of these centers is 0.68 eV at x=0 and decreases with x. The entropy associated with creation of a paramagnetic center also decreases with x. These effects are attributed to strong Tl-Se bonding which decreases the complexity of the liquid-Se polymeric structure and decreases the average Se-Se bond strength. © 1979 The American Physical Society.
