THE EFFECTS OF FLUID DENSITY ON THE ROTATIONAL RAMAN-SPECTRUM OF HYDROGEN DISSOLVED IN SUPERCRITICAL CARBON-DIOXIDE

摘要
The rotational Raman spectrum of hydrogen dissolved in supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) is investigated. As the pressure, and hence density of the solution is increased, the lines broaden dramatically. The line broadening is compared with that of the vibrational line Q1(1) and possible explanations for the behaviour, related to solvent-solute interactions, are discussed.
