The standard enthalpies of formation of complex oxides were determined by solution calorimetry:(Δf Hmo (B a C u O2, s, 298.15 K) = - (772.7 ± 2.1) k J {dot operator} m o l- 1 ;; Δf Hmo (Y2 B a O4, s, 298.15 K) = - (2487.5 ± 2.8) k J {dot operator} m o l- 1 ;; Δf Hmo (Y2 C u2 O5, s, 298.15 K) = - (2283.0 ± 3.0) k J {dot operator} m o l- 1 .)The complex oxides appear to be more stable at room temperature than the corresponding parent binary oxides. © 1992 Academic Press Limited All rights reserved.
