JESROMOTETROL C-13 NUCLEAR MAGNETIC-RESONANCE - BORIC AND PHENYLBORONIC ACIDS AS ASSIGNMENT AIDS FOR 1-2-DIOLS AND 1,3-DIOLS

摘要
The addition of boric acid or phenylboronic acid to either 1, 2-or 1, 3-diols has been shown to produce substantial alterations in the13C chemical shifts of the parent compounds. In the case of either reagent the cyclic cis diols react to the exclusion of the trans isomer. Boric acid induced shifts are comparable to acetylation shifts. The13C lines of the diterpene jesromotetrol have been assigned with the aid of boric acid induced shifts. © 1979, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
