TRANSVERSE MAGNETORESISTANCE OF SOME AMORPHOUS METALS AT 4.2-K AND 300-K

摘要
The transverse (H⊥j) magnetoresistance Δρ{variant} ρ{variant} of amorphous ferromagnets was measured for two different orientations of the ribbon plane to the magnetic field direction. In the parallel orientation a magnetic field of 3-5 kOe leads to a strong resistivity decrease and to a saturation effect. When the field is perpendicular to the ribbon plane, the effect is diminished by the influence of the demagnetizing field. However, for small fields up to 2 kOe a small resistivity increase is observed. Also measurements of Δρ{variant} ρ{variant} with applied stress have been performed. Attention was focussed on the situation where the effect of the magnetic field is counterbalanced by the stress. © 1979.
