THERMOMODULATION OF THE LI-K CORE EXCITONS IN LIF

摘要
Thermotransmission measurements of the Li K threshold spectrum of LiF clearly resolve the forbidden and the allowed exciton. The line shapes show that the former grows in intensity with increasing temperature, becoming allowed as phonons of odd symmetry make the parity selection rule weaker, while the latter shifts to lower energy with increasing temperature. A second member of the forbidden exciton series has been resolved. © 1979.
