The molecular Zeeman effect in PH2D and PHD2 and the molecular g-values, magnetic susceptibilities, and molecular quadrupole moment in PH3

摘要
The Zeeman effect was observed for two rotational transitions in PH2D and two rotational transitions The combined results were analyzed to determine the ratio of g-value to rotational constant The results are g(II)/G(II) = - (0.0279 +/- 0.0015) x 10(-11) sec and g(perpendicular to)/G(perpendicular to) = (0.0128 +/- 0.0012) x 10(-11) sec. The magnetic susceptibility anisotropy was determined to be X-parallel to - X-perpendicular to = -(2.7 +/- 0.8) x 10(-6) erg/G(2) mole. The molecular quadrupole moment is Q(u) = -(21 +/- 1.0) x 10(-28) esu cm(2). The diagonal elements of the diamagnetic, paramagnetic and total susceptibility tensor and the second moments of the electronic charge distribution are given and compared distribution are given and compared to NH3.
