INCLUSION OF A P4-TERM IN DEFORMED SHELL-MODEL POTENTIAL

摘要：

The properties of a P4-dependent deformed shell-model potential are investigated. Total energy as a function of deformation of some actinide nuclei are calculated from single-particle energies corresponding to this potential with pairing and Coulomb energy included. Equilibrium distortions are determined. The formation of a neckline near the fission point is indicated. but the volume conservation condition is found inadequate in the nuclear saddle-point region,. © 1969.
