摘要
The relativistic rise of ionization has been measured with ±3% fwhm resolution at 20, 30, 40, 50, 64, 70, 90 and 110 GeV/c. The measurements were performed during tests of a large 128 layer proportional detector system (EPI) designed for identification of fast secondary particles in connection with the big hydrogen bubble chamber BEBC. Results of linearity tests of the detector, using X-ray sources, are presented. Factors affecting the long term stability of the detector are analysed and the method used for the off-line data treatment is described. © 1978.
