摘要：

1. Hemagglutination and wax D agglutination reactions by rabbit anti-tubercle bacilli sera absorbed with various antigens revealed that antigenic determinants of wax D were identical w'ith those of lipopolysaccharide antigen for Middlebrook-Dubos test. Experiments using passive cutaneous anaphylaxis test supported this conclusion. 2. The water-soluble portion of wax D caused passive cutaneous anaphylaxis in guinea pigs. 3. The water-soluble portion possessed the ability to sensitize erythrocytes. Mild saponification of it enhanced the ability but decreased its antigenicity slightly. Discrepancy between this result and those of other investigators was discussed. © 1969 S. Karger AG, Basel.
