SYNTHESIS AND X-RAY CRYSTAL-STRUCTURES OF [ME2NH2]+[AL(OSIME3)4]- AND AL2(OSIME3)6

摘要
The reaction between Al2(NMe2)6 and excess Me3SiOH in hydrocarbon solvents yields [Me2NH2]+[Al(OSiMe3)4]- (I), which has been characterized by X-ray crystallography. Hydrogen bonding occurs between oxygen atoms on the siloxides and hydrogen atoms of the dimethylammonium cations. Under a dynamic vacuum I sublimes (50-degrees-C, 10(-2) torr) but with some decomposition to Al2(OSiMe3)6 (II). The latter compound is better prepared by addition of Me3SiOH to Al(OPr(i))3. The addition of Me3SiOH and Me2NH to hydrocarbon solutions of II regenerates I. These results are compared with previous studies of the reaction between Al2(NMe2)6 and Bu(t)OH. The X-ray crystal structure of II has been determined at -100-degrees-C.
