INVIVO AND INVITRO VELOCITY-MEASUREMENTS IN MICROVASCULATURE WITH A LASER

摘要
A laser Doppler velocimeter (LDV) was developed to study flow in individual vessels of the microcirculatory network. The velocimeter measures steady blood flow as well as pulsatile flow. In addition, the method can be used to determine vessel diameter. Both in vivo and in vitro experiments were performed. The measured velocities ranged from 1 to 20 mm/sec in vessels of the rabbit mesentery ranging in diameter from 10 to 100 μm. The data were found to be in good agreement with those obtained by the diode cross-correlation method. © 1979.
