2-PHOTON EXCITATION OF PHOTOEXCITED ND-3+ COUPLED IONS IN LACL3 CRYSTALS

摘要
Optical studies of Nd3+ doped LaCl3 crystals have been carried out in the 17000 cm-1 spectral region. Absorptions starting from metastable levels have been observed; some are one-photon absorptions by single ions, others are two-photon cooperative absorptions by specific pairs. The study of the process has allowed us to distinguish coupled ions from neighbour ions. © 1990.
