AUTOCORRELATION AND POWER SPECTRUM OF DIRECTOR-FLUCTUATION IN ELECTROHYDRODYNAMIC INSTABILITIES OF NEMATIC LIQUID-CRYSTAL

摘要
In the course of the successive transitions caused by the electrohydrodynamic instabilities in the nematics (MBBA), the fluctuation of the transmission of light is measured as a function of the applied voltage. From the autocorrelation and the power spectruun the behavior of the characteristic modes are studied. The mode-softenings occur at the instability points.
