摘要
Recent advances in preparing ordered mesoporous solids, especially pillared clays (PILCs) and other layered materials and MCM-type zeolites ale described, including prospects for 'engineering' such solids with its relevance for new molecular sieve and catalytic materials for industry. Some problems of correlating structure and porosity in mesoporous materials are discussed, including overcoming well-known limitations of the classical BET equation, via catalytic shape selection indexes and scanning probe microscopies.
