摘要
We report that Arabidopsis thaliana plants irradiated with UC-V (600 and 960 J m-2; i = 10 and 16 W m-2 respectively) show a retardation of growth and changes in pigment composition in a dose dependent manner. There is an increase in the carotenoid levels which is positively correlated with an enhancement of the 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase mRNA levels. The contents of perchloric-acid soluble conjugated polyamines also increase and these are positively correlated with enhanced phenylalanine ammonia lyase mRNA levels. We propose carotenoid and conjugated polyamine levels as biochemical indicators of UV induced-stress in plants.
