摘要：

The freshwater fish from French Guiana have a very high diversity with about 330 species. Several of them have interesting biological characteristics for fishculturc. Two cypriniforms, Myleus rhomboidalis and Leporinus fridericl, three perciforms, Astronotus ocellatus, Cichla ocellaris and Plagioscion squamosissimus, as well as three siluriforms, Hoplosternum Littorale, Brachyplatystoma raillanti and Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum, were found to be of particular interest as far as fish farming is concerned. These species are suitable for different types of fish farming and different markets.
