SYMMETRY-DERIVED CRITICAL MODES AT THE FERROMAGNETIC LIFSHITZ POINT

摘要
We use the Landau-Lifshitz group-theoretical approach to find and classify all instability modes associated with Lifshitz points at which a ferromagnetic phase becomes unstable. This is done by determining the appropriate symmetry-allowed Hamiltonians for each of the 32 crystal classes and finding the instability thresholds with respect to fluctuations in k→ space. © 1979 The American Physical Society.
